RK Industries LLC, a homegrown leader in construction, advanced manufacturing, fabrication, and building services, has announced a significant expansion in Aurora, Colorado. The move will bring 1,786 new good-paying jobs over the next eight years—making it the largest job creation project approved for a Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit (JGITC) in 2025.

The new 154,488-square-foot headquarters will consolidate four of RK’s core divisions—RK Mechanical, RK Service, RK Electrical, and RK Industries—as well as the company’s philanthropic arm, the RK Foundation.

Why Aurora?

Despite strong offers from Texas and Arizona, Aurora won out as RK’s future home. Nearly half of the company’s workforce already resides in Aurora, and the city’s partnership approach helped seal the deal.

The Aurora Economic Development Council, in partnership with the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), the City of Aurora, and Adams County, worked with RK for more than two years to make the project possible. This included site selection, incentive negotiations, and developing workforce training strategies.

“Relocating our headquarters to Aurora isn’t just about expanding our footprint in Colorado, it’s about expanding opportunity. We’re projecting to create over 1,700 good-paying jobs over the next eight years, investing heavily in workforce training, and strengthening the communities where our employees live and work,” said Jon Kinning, Chief Operating Officer of RK Industries.

Skilled Trades at the Center

With a legacy dating back to 1995, RK Industries has long been recognized for its commitment to workforce development. The company runs accredited apprenticeship programs in seven skilled trades, including:

  • Electrical

  • Plumbing

  • HVAC Services

  • Welding & Fabrication

  • Sheet Metal

  • Pipefitting

  • Millwright/Industrial trades

These programs directly address Colorado’s growing shortage of skilled labor—a shortage that impacts critical industries like healthcare, data centers, energy, and construction.

“Colorado is the best place to work and play. We are thrilled to see RK Industries expand in Colorado, which helps grow our state’s thriving advanced manufacturing industry and create 1,786 good-paying jobs for Coloradans.”

- Governor Jared Polis

Economic Impact

The project represents a long-term investment not only in Aurora but in Adams County’s regional economy. With high-quality wages and full benefits, these jobs will support families while fueling growth in Colorado’s construction and manufacturing ecosystem.

  • Largest 2025 JGITC project in Colorado

  • 1,786 projected new jobs over eight years

  • Headquarters relocation + expansion strengthens Colorado’s advanced manufacturing base

Looking Ahead

RK Industries’ decision reinforces Colorado’s role as a hub for advanced manufacturing and skilled trades innovation. As the company expands its footprint, it not only secures long-term economic benefits for Aurora but also ensures that tradespeople across the state will have access to meaningful careers with growth opportunities.

At TradesmenUp, we see expansions like this as proof of the growing demand for skilled trades talent nationwide. Employers are investing heavily in workforce training, apprenticeships, and long-term career pathways—making this a pivotal moment for anyone pursuing a career in the trades.
